Volkswagen have released a video of their up-coming performance model the VW Golf R Cabriolet. The video tells us a little about the 270 horsepower convertible. As usual for a Volkswagen the styling is understated but we spotted aerodynamic side skirts and twin exhaust tail pipes, LED daytime running lights and a new sporty front bumper panel.
2013 Beetle Cabriolet to Debut at LA Show

Due to be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in late November, the latex incarnation of the Convertible Beetle aims to be sportier and have a less feminine appeal. The traditional fabric soft-top of the previous Beetle Cabriolet remains but it is flatter and sits behind a more upright windscreen. It is fast operating for a 4 seater convertible with an opening time of just 10 seconds.

The VW E-Bubster is one such concept that we are particularly fond of. This electric convertible takes the cute VW Beetle and turns it into a cut-down sports car.
