While details of the new Aygo are yet to be released, both the Citroen C1 and Peugeot 108 will be offered with a roll-back convertible roof. The fabric roof will be offered in several contrasting colours and works in a similar way to the Fiat 500C and Citroen DS3 Cabrio that we recently reviewed.

While there have been concepts floating around for small Japanese roadsters it has never looked more likely that we are about to see a return of the kei sports car. Both and look likely to show small roadster concepts at the Tokyo Motor Show in November.

Due to be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in late November, the latex incarnation of the Convertible Beetle aims to be sportier and have a less feminine appeal. The traditional fabric soft-top of the previous Beetle Cabriolet remains but it is flatter and sits behind a more upright windscreen. It is fast operating for a 4 seater convertible with an opening time of just 10 seconds.

Production of the much loved tiny Daihatsu Copen Roadster ended earlier this year and there has been speculation for some time as to what (if anything) will follow it. Daihatsu seem unlikely to disappoint having shown several concepts over the last few years. The latest of these is the Daihatsu D-R Roadster.
