We’ve been waiting for a proper convertible sports car with the Italian brand’s extensive heritage for a long time and the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider does not disappoint. While the 4C Spider is a throughly modern sports car it takes its influence from the brands iconic performance cars of the past.

Tokyo and LA Motor Show Round-up

This week were both the Tokyo and Los Angeles Motor/Auto Shows. While LA saw the latest BMW 4-Series Convertible in the flesh for the first time as well as the latest Porsche 911 Cabriolet (which as you might expect would take a serious enthusiast to tell apart from the 2013 model), the really interesting sights were in Japan.

Audi TTS Competition Roadster

The Audi TTS competition is being launched as a limited edition car to celebrate half a million of the brand’s TT models being sold. The original Audi TT was launched as a Coupé back in 1998 and as a Roadster in 1999. The design kept close to a concept shown earlier in Frankfurt to much public acclaim.

US Mini sales reach half a million but Roadster may be dropped

Mini have sold their 500,000th car in the United States after just 11 years. Initially there were doubts that a small car could succeed in North America however the combination of premium build quality, funky styling and a fun driving experience proved a great recipe. It also paved the way for other small car successes such as the Fiat 500 and its convertible sister the Fiat 500C.
