McLaren’s latest convertible supercar was unveiled for its first public viewing at California’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance event. The 12C Spider was revealed at the prestigious Gooding & Company Auction preview.
The McLaren MP4-12C Spider is a convertible development of the MP4-12C coupe and comes with a slick folding hardtop roof. The McLaren racing heritage is apparent throughout the car from the carbon ‘MonoCell’ chassis to the 616 bhp twin turbo V8 engine and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The car on display to VIP guests at the Monterey preview was no wallflower with Volcano Yellow paintwork and black leather trim. It continued to be displayed along with the 12C GT3 Can-Am edition concept through out the weekend. Those with the means to purchase this car will have to part with $265,750 (US) to order a car.
