Geneva is one of the biggest show of the motoring year and is often where we see the most new car launches. The German’s may prefer Frankfurt and Detroit and Chicago are growing fast but Geneva remains a focal point at a key part of the year when many new cars are being introduced.
2012 looks to be a particularly good year with a number of convertible cars being officially unveiled at the Swiss show. There is the latest Audi TT RS plus Roadster and the new BMW M6 Convertible that we have already featured. There have also been teasers sent out about a new Lotus Convertible – perhaps an Evora Roadster, we’ll have to wait and see.
SsangYong have surprised us with their XIV-2 Convertible concept which will be unveiled at the Geneva show. A new direction for the company but from the preview pictures it looks good.
Ferrari have also finally admitted the much rumoured update to the California Convertible. The refresh will include a horsepower boost as well as small visual tweaks.
At more realistic prices VW will unveil the new Golf GTI Convertible – a name which has been sadly missing from the car industry for a number of years now.
There may well be more update from Geneva over the next couple of weeks so check back here for the latest convertible news.
UPDATE: More cars to debut at Geneva: Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse, Mercedes-Benz AMG SL63 and surprisingly the Range Rover Evoque Convertible.
