- Car brand: Mercedes-Benz
- Convertible roof type: Fabric
The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren was always designed with a convertible in mind, but it was not until September 2007 before one was to be launched. Performance figures were much the same as the coupe thanks to the stiff carbon fibre chassis and the same supercharged AMG V8 engine. It also features the same gullwing doors and striking styling. This time, though, the Mercedes has the full open-air driving experience. The convertible SLR McLaren features a light-weight folding roof made from a newly developed material, which is available in three different colours and folds down in just 10 seconds.
