The Ford Mustang Convertible is a symbolic American muscle car that can trace its routes back to 1964 and although it has come a long way it keeps true to the original concept. A selection of three beefy power plants to drive the rear wheels of this four seat cruiser. Performance is improved, but it is still no agile sports car. The Mustang Convertible however, proves a great sounding and iconic muscle car at an affordable price. Since the launch of the Camaro Convertible, it now has tough competition although the Ford remains the better car to drive.
After a redesign for 2010, the 2011 Mustang gets two new engines, new transmissions and improvements in ride and handling.
The V6 lacks some of the grunt and desirability of the V8 GT but comes at a lower purchase price and more acceptable running costs. It's still no slouch though.
The Ford Shelby GT500 Convertible has more than enough power as well as an iconic name. Shelby created some of the most powerful street and track cars. Supercharged and tuned to make massive power output the GT500 can hold its own against much more expensive and exotic machinery. Suspension and chassis modifications tried to tame all that power but it remains quite a handful in anythingother than a straight line.
