Previously considered to be big and heavy, the C6 incarnation of the Corvette is both smaller and lighter than the model it replaced. In fact, it’s even 128kg lighter than the BMW M3. This along with huge amounts of grip make this finally a car to be considered for true sports car status. It is still not a vehicle to be thrown around corners without considering the consequences, the Corvette still sits on leaf springs after all, but power and sound from the big V8 more than makes up for it.
Considering the visual impact, raw performance and heritage of this brand the Chevrolet Corvette C6 Convertible is something of a bargain. The smart money may be on the Porsche 911, but it wouldn’t be anywhere near as much fun.
