BAC is a new British performance car company who plan to make delivery of their first cars in July. The single seat BAC Mono is a road-legal trackday car designed for ultimate performance at the sacrifice of all luxuries.
Much of the construction is carbon-fibre composite around an FIA compliant steel safety cell. Fully adjustable pushrod suspension and AP Racing brakes will help keep it stuck to the road/track while power comes from a 280 bhp four cylinder Cosworth engine with Formula 3 spec sequential gearbox. A heady mix considering the car only weighs 540kg.
Performance figures are pretty mind blowing with a 0-60 mph time of just 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 170 mph.
The first two cars will go to trackday firm RS Academy followed by orders for three to four cars a month with a goal of building 50 cars in the coming year. At an on the road price of £80,000 it isn’t cheap but if performance is all then this promises to be one of the ultimate answers.
