The Honda S2000 Roadster concept was kept fresh with multiple updates, but the basic car was a winner from the start. It is a Jekyll and Hyde sort of a car – easy to drive around town and yet on the open road when pushed it is close to a track car. The high-revving VTEC engine is the source of the magic and it has been borrowed for use in several track-day aimed cars such as the Ariel Atom. The Honda S2000 has outlived many rival roadsters and is still among the best in its class. Despite this, it was never as popular as rivals such as the BMW Z4 or Porsche Boxster. Production ceased in 2009 and it has already considered a classic. Values are holding well and a good car should make a fine investment.
