The Brabus goodies for the Mercedes-Benz SL500 combine to form a formidable package. The Brabus B50 – 520 PowerXtra CGI power kit squeezes an additional 85 horsepower from the Mercedes 4.7-liter V8 Biturbo engine through some clever electronics. There is also an auxiliary intercooler powered by an electric pump to keep turbos cool from their increased pressure.
In addition, the Brabus SL500 Roadster gets a lowered sports suspension modification – again an electronic modification this time to the Mercedes ABC air suspension. A Brabus stainless-steel sports exhaust system with four chromed tailpipes provides a sportier exhaust note and visually sets the car apart from the standard SL. A custom designed set of body panels, along with Brabus Monoblock 20 inch wheels wrapped in high-performance rubber give the car a unique look. Driving performance can be further enhanced with the Brabus limited-slip differential designed with a locking rate of 40 percent.
Inside the Brabus logo is illuminated on backlit scuff plates and on the speedometer while various trims in carbon-fibre, fine wood, leather and Alcantara upholstery can be specified in a wide range of colours.
