A new (even) hotter version of the Audi TT RS Roadster is due to be launched at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Audi have squeezed an extra 20 horses out of the characterful five cylinder engine and its hefty TFSI turbo to make the TT RS plus. The end result is a reduction of the 0-100 kmh (0-62 mph) sprint reduced by 0.2 Seconds to a fleeting 4.4 seconds for the manual gearbox car or 4.2 for those who choose the optional S tronic dual-clutch transmission. The top speed is limited to an extended 280 kmh (174 mph) compared to the standard RS Roadster’s 200 kmh (155 mph).
To ensure the droptop plus isn’t mistaken for a lesser Audi convertible have also added red rimmed black 19 inch ‘Rotor’ design alloy wheels and a polished ‘anthracite’ coloured radiator grille. At the rear the exhaust tailpipe is trimmed in black. Inside things are mostly unchanged but the gearstick has a new badge to remind you of the extra power.
As with the standard Audi TTRS Roadster the plus has Quattro permanent all-wheel-drive and a large fixed rear wing.
The Audi TT RS plus Roadster will initially be available in Europe only while only the Coupe version is being exported to North America. The launch price in Germany for this car will be €63,500 with the 6-speed manual transmission and €65,650 for the 7-speed S tronic.
