Lamborghini have refined the Gallardo Spyder further still with a new Performante model for 2011. The new car sheds 65 kilograms (143 lbs) by use of carbon-fibre for some body panels and cockpit parts. Even the usual leather interior is replaced with lightweight Alcantara. All this results in a convertible supercar that tips the scales with a dry weight of no more than 1,485 kilograms.
An extra 10 horsepower is squeezed out of the 5.2 litre V10 engine resulting in a further 10th of a second shaved off the 0-60mph time while CO2 emissions are reduced.
Wind tunnel testing has resulted in a new visual look to the front bumper as well as modifications to the fully-covered underbody and sill elements and rear diffuser.
The open-top LP 570-4 from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in a mere 3.9 seconds and keeps on going to a top speed of 324 km/h (201 mph).
